I had the worst experience I have ever had with any animal company or trainer in my life with K9 Off Leash and would suggest that anyone considering using anyone associated with this brand find one that actually care for the animals which they are trusted to care for and one whose parent company holds the people who pay them to use its name accountable for their actions and how they treat animals
To start I was made to believe I was getting a great discounted deal on a two week board and train program where Patrick my 7 month old Pit/Shepard/Mastiff mix to stop chewing, and to begin training to become a physical assistance and service dog.
After meeting the Head Trainer in my home and talking about the training I was interested in and being assured that Patrick would be trained to preform a handful of commands and in the future as a service dog through the two week program and then a life time worth of free refresher and continuing education training courses.
After setting up to drop of my pup the night before I left town for Christmas i was co fused worried and upset to find out upon texting the head trainer, who had taken my non refundable $700 deposit, had completely forgotten that he was supposed to be starting my animals training. I was then forced to have a dear friend of mine drop him off after I had already flown out. Then the disaster started.
immediately after I paid for his training and he was dropped off I came to find that the Trainer had left town and was never there actually training my dog. When asked after almost a week about a video of the progress I was again directed to be in contact with the trainers wife who sent me the most disappointing video of her training to get Patrick to sit on a park bench and heal will immediately after sending it telling me that they had spent most of the week working on house manners and week going to need to keep him For an extra week to finish his training which I agreed to feeling unsure about my $1500 investment into his "service dog training".
After 3 weeks my animal was returned to me having been unattended for long enough that he had chewed the fur off the last 3inches of his tail, was 7lbs lighter then when he left, looking like he hadn't eaten in days, scared of me as if I beat him, barking enough and chewing enough within his first 3 days of being home that I was kicked out by my landlord and had animal control called at my new house. Mean while the only thing that my dog came home knowing how to do out of the list of basic commands that are in the contract I was sent is to heel at my side in fear of the training collar which I was told the dog was supposed to enjoy having on and working with.
When I contacted the trainer who never actually trained with my animal through email stating that I only wanted written contact as I had been told things in person that would happen and never got to sign any actual contract or training agreement. I wanted documentation of anything said as the corporate website which I did not fully read before sending my pup says that nothing verbally agreed on or said by the trainers is legal.
The trainer then flat our refused to send me a copy of our communications throughout the whole process since I had thought I lost it all, and then threw in my face that he cut me a huge deal on our training.
Along with refusing to share records of OUR conversations with me he then refused to have any further contact with me about anything else except me sending my dog back to him for training.
I then took the next step and contacted the corporate office through email asking how the trainer are certified and if they had a list of one in the area. I did this so that I could find another trainer to do the life time of refresher classes to actually train him and too make sure that his wife was certified under their training program since I knew he was not there training my dog. The corporate office answered my email as if they thought that I was interested in Paying to become a trainer. After a follow up email including photos and a story of what had happened to my puppy I was ignored and got no response at all.
The way my puppy was treated and "trained" was unacceptable to myself and my family and friends. Neither I or anyone else will be using K9 Off Leash Trainers or Training Systems to work with our animals.
I tried to keep everything factual and without emotion but the anger I felt when I saw my puppy for the first time in three weeks may have bled through and I apologize for the long review.
