| - Bare with me, this will be a long review.
I moved into this apartment complex last January. And at that time, there was different management (just keep that in mind). The first night here was fine. No issues or complaints whatsoever. The next day...bugs...everywhere. Gross disgusting bugs all over the apartment. I'm talking bathroom, kitchen, dining and living room. It grossed me out and gave me anxiety. Immediately reached out to management and had them contact pest control. They came and did a sweep through of the apartment and bugs still kept showing up. Eventually we had to bomb the apartment ourselves in order to get rid of them. We did this twice. Next came the issue with the refrigerator and freezer. It got so cold in the freezer all of my food went bad and it began dropping water into the refrigerator below it ruining over $200 worth of food. I submitted a work order. No one showed up. I called and emailed management pretty angry and they claimed it "fell threw the cracks". Unacceptable. Nor did they offer to replace my food, give me $200 or any type of discount on rent. Instead, they placed the blame all on me. Then all of a sudden a new management company takes over. Did they alert their tenants? Nope! So when I tried reaching back out about my refrigerator incident they blamed the other company and told me there was absolutely nothing they could do for me. Seriously!? I signed a 15 month lease and moved out today to be exact. There was no way I would be renewing.
Now, with all of that being said, they have a new management company (GreyStar) which I haven't had the best of luck with in previous years and apartments past. April, the current manager, has been very responsive to my emails and questions and I appreciate her. She is very sweet and even gave me a hug as I turned in my keys and wished me luck. She, herself, deserves 5 stars. And the maintenance guys Richard and Kevin, deserve 6 stars each. They are the hardest working men I know and they are very kind. And helpful. If I could change my entire review to just be on the people themselves, at least as of the last 3 months, this place would knock it out of the park. But unfortunately, it's about the complex not the people.
As far as how much I paid monthly, it was fair. Water and SRP...average. They have begun remodeling right as I moved out and are inserting washers and dryers in every unit, which would have been nice. I never used their pool or BBQ area but a lot of others did and seemed to enjoy it. This place on the outside is clean and very well kept. The complex next door has a lot of trees and very very loud birds, so be aware.
Would I suggest this complex? It depends. If you are looking in this location due to its access to food, the mall and freeways while being affordable...and it's your first apartment, yes I do recommend it. But if you have lived in other places before and it's not your first place, no I do not.
The 3 stars are mostly for the last 3 months and the 3 people who have made this process a little easier. I want to say thank you to April, Richard and Kevin for their help. And hopefully with all of these remodeling projects they have going on, new tenants will have a better experience than mine.
