For the last six weeks we have been doing a project for the Governor's Office at State of Wisconsin Administration and living at the Inn on the Park. We hope to be here for the next six months. I am aware that your restaurant has earned a lot of laurels in Madison and we have been regular customers at your restaurant enjoying the quality of food and the ambience of your restaurant. Tonight however, we were planning on coming to your restaurant for dinner again but before we did we were sitting at the bar at Inn on the Park and wanted one of our team mates to try your Oysters. I walked across the street in to your restaurant and asked for a dozen Oysters to go. I was rudely told by a bearded waiter that you were "Not a to Go shop. We do not even have To Go Boxes". I have been to the best restaurants all over the country and nobody refuses to box my order if I so desire and pay the price. Maybe I just looked like a looser to your waiter so I asked for a Manager as I did not believe this was the restaurant 's policy. A young girl came out and told me that she was the Manager and repeated exactly the same thing as your bearded bar tender. As I intended to complain I asked for her name and business card but she claimed she had neither. She did not even have a name tag. I am aware that you are a very successful restaurant and do not need our business but a little courtesy and respect for your clientele would be nice. I hail from Dallas, Texas and a server like that would have been fired immediately. We will avoid your restaurant in the future since we are obviously not good enough to order food there, but I do hope you realize that this is not the way your staff should be treating potential customers.
Thank you,
Bruce Phillipowsky
