| - Hawaiian cuisine is a fusion of all of my favorite cuisines - American, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Polynesian and Portuguese. In theory, I should love Hawaiian food but 5-6 times that I've tried it, the dishes I've ordered were more miss than hit. So I was really hoping, the food at Ross J's Aloha Grill would change that. It didn't.
I ordered Loco Moco and BF got fried mahi-mahi plate. Filipino style Loco Moco is one of my favorite dish. The dish consist of rice, hamburger patties with brown gravy topped with fried egg, sunny side up. Really simple dish but with such big flavor if done right. Unfortunately, the gravy was so bland it didn't taste anything. I added soy sauce but it just wasn't the same. Other yelpers were raving about their Loco Moco so maybe we came at a wrong time? The fried mahi-mahi was all right. It was a little greasy. BF said he likes L&L better.
