Soft openings are fun as they give the staff a chance to work through service and food preparation kinks.
On the advice of someone who knows the menu, they suggested I try the smoked salmon benedict. It included a more than generous helping of mashed potatoes, several hot biscuits, smoked salmon that were covered in a fried egg with a spicy benedict sauce.
I tried the Kiwi Watermelon drink with a side of spike and ginormous slice of watermelon. It's served with vodka, but I'm not sure which brand. I should have asked my waiter.
The dessert I tried was the tasty chocolate waffles, scoops of vanilla bean ice cream and chocolate sauce were drizzled on top. This was also a dish recommended by someone who knows the menu.
The waffles were just right, not too crispy and not too soft. There was enough for three people and then some. Desserts at Hash House A Go Go are best shared.
The menu has been simplified at this location so some of the dinner items and or appetizers may not be available. They still have a large amount of food though and their portions are huge.
I'm excited to try this location again during normal business hours. I heard that they will be having a happy hour from 4-7pm daily.
