| - Too bad you can't rate half stars.
This hotel is a 3.5 in my opinion. There was an abundance of parking. All the employees I encountered were very polite, from the front desk attendant to the dealers. No, this hotel isn't very nicely designed, but I wasn't bothered since I paid a very low rate. If you want nice decor, don't cheap out and spend 4 times as much to go to the Mirage or the Venetian. The lobby/casino was smoky, just like all other casinos in Nevada.
Casino: LOW ROLLERS COME HERE. The minimum bet for blackjack was $5, and roulette was $4. The best deal for cheapskates on or near the strip, besides the Sahara. The drinks came fast and free (but of course I tipped).
I stayed in room 666. Most people would ask for a different room, but I felt a little adventurous that night, and realized that I wouldn't be up there for anything besides sleep and.. money counting. The room was neat, clean, and well stocked with amenities. There were no corpses, hidden passageways, or ghosts.
Room service here is 24 hours. The food is reasonably priced, but is short order at best. (i.e. Denny's ish).
I was surprised to hear a Filipino band here. They weren't bad at all, so I have no idea what "terrible music" other people are referring to. The Jazz band that played in the morning wasn't bad either.
A car (or cab fare) is necessary to get to and from the Strip. It is right across from (i.e. walking distance from) the Palms casino, and next to the Rio.
Come here if you want a good deal, a good time, and to have a good amount of money left in your wallet.
