Yesterday before work I ran by Owens to get a bagel. They are one of the few bagel places I know of that carry vegan cream cheese so when I get a craving its nice to have them down the block from where I work.
Unfortunately yesterday there was a mix up and they put veggie cream cheese (real cream cheese with veggie bits mixed in) on my bagel instead. I didn't notice until I got to work and opened up my bagel. Luckily a co-worker brought some cereal and I traded her my bagel. But still, bummer, plain cereal was far from the toasted bagel I wanted.
So today I went back before work because I was still craving that bagel. It was the same man at the register from yesterday and I politely asked to make sure it was vegan and not veggie. He recognized me and apologized and took care of the cost for my bagel today. As I waited I watched him go over and tell the cook to make sure the correct spread was on my bagel. Everyone was very friendly and eager to correct the mistake from yesterday.
I wasn't expecting all they did. I work in the hospitality industry and I understand mix ups happen. I wasn't upset with them by any means and they still did everything they could to rectify the situation.
