  • My experience at menchies was only okay. Why? Here are the reasons: 1) When I first noticed the store, I noticed it pack with...women. And not the 20-30 crowd, but the 8-12 tween crowd. So many little girls, I was surprised. Then I noticed the branding. Menchies is branded and advertised towards young girls. The store kinda reminded me of "Claire's". They have merchandise such as weird watches and other stuff for you to purchase at a ridiculous price for something made in China. Off putting for an adult who wants to get good frozen yogurt. 2) If they spent less time "branding" and more time making yogurt, it would be off the charts. However this is not the case. The variety of frozen yogurt is lacking. They have less flavors than Yogurtland or Yogurt Vi. 3) I noticed right away when I went into the store that the floor was sticky literally everywhere I walked. It seems like these little kids don't know how NOT to spill yogurt. But more than that, the workers there should have kept the floors clean. It was so sticky that I wanted to take a mop and clean the floors up. 4) Only after I made a purchase that I realized some of the flavors weren't even yogurt - they were sorbet. Why do you make me pay the same for sorbet as I do for yogurt? This is supposed to be FROZEN YOGURT, not sorbet. This is the only frozen yogurt place I know of that offers sorbet. 5) The plain yogurt was not as tart as I am used to. The toppings were running out, especially the fruits, and they didn't replenish them quickly enough. 6) Long lines. For some reason, the line was at least 10 people, and yet only one cashier was open during a busy time. 7) Price was reasonable at $0.45/ounce. Cheaper than Yogurt Vi in North Olmstead ($0.49/ounce) but still more expensive than Yogurtland ($0.33/ounce). My experience was compared to the many other frozen yogurt experiences I have had. Menchies falls below expectations.
