| - Had lunch at New Seoul today and was thrilled! They have a lunch menu, all entrees are $7.99. I work in the area and you're going to spend at least that much at Panera or Chipotle, so why not break for the usual and support a local place.
I ordered the veggie chop chae bop, which is clear sweet potato noodles, cabbage, carrot, onion, green onion, mushroom, red cabbage. It was wonderful. Definitely enough food to share or save leftovers. It came with a small side of kimchi (delicious) and I asked for a side of the red chili sauce that is usually on the table (my food was to go). I added a veggie egg roll, which was delicious, but not necessary. The egg roll was freshly made, and a triangle rather than rolled.
I've eaten here a number of times and am surprised to see that others were unhappy. I eat Korean food often in different cities and at other Korean restaurants in Madison, and time and again New Seoul is the best.
My favorites (some only available on the dinner menu, but you are free to order them at lunch) are kimbop, tukbokgi, vegetable bokum, and the stone bowl bibimbop. Their miso soup is fantastic as well. I'm trying to branch out, the chop chae bop has now made the list. If you eat there the banchan are included and delicious.
