| - The Princeton Club is big. Real big. Like, the size of a Target big. With its big-ness, there's a few very clear positives and negatives that really dominate the workout experience here.
The pros:
This gym as absolutely any type of equipment or class you could ever desire. I love using kettlebells as a part of my workout, and there's not many gyms that have them. PC had several different sizes all the way up to 48kgs, a huge range. They also have a track, lap pool, soccer field, free weights, squat racks, battle ropes, about 1000 different types of treadmills and ellipticals, and even a couple spin bikes. The equipment seems pretty new and well maintained, and most of the other people working out here are somewhere between indifferent and pleasant, which is what you want from a gym. It's open 24 hours as well.
The cons:
I saw exactly 1 person wipe down their machine after using it, and I was there about one and a half hours. Hard to fault the gym for that, but it's true. There's also just a lot of people here most of the time, and when you put a large space together with lots of people, it just feels like there's a crowd working out there during peak hours. Something just feels off about that. The locker room smells pretty bad, and is mostly filled with old dudes just hanging dong in no hurry to get toweled off or put some clothes on. That can be charming, but here with so many people it just feels lewd and weird. The prices are also pretty high.
It's a strange experience working out here, but the selection of equipment keeps me coming back. If that's what you're looking for, feel free to sign up. If not, there's plenty of other choices like the Princeton Club Xpress that's closer to a "traditional" gym experience.
