This course wasn't the best we've played on, but for $50 we could have done worse. Although we noticed some the fairways and greens were pretty beat up, the pace of play was fast and we finished our round in a about three and a half hours giving us time to spare to get lunch before an afternoon baseball game.
The course plays shorter from the back tees at 6088 yards. Most holes are flat and straight forward on the front nine. The back will you give you a few more challenges with elevation change, dog legs, and water coming into play. A range finder isn't needed because the carts are equipped with GPS that also locates the carts in front of you so you won't have to worry about hitting into them
Number 6 is the signature hole with a wall rising up in the middle of the fairway making two solid shots necessary to reach the green in two. Number 2 also stood out with me requiring a left placement of tee your shot because anything landing in the middle of the fairway will funnel down hard to the right into the bordering lake. Luckily, we were playing with two locals who helped us manage this hole.
Don't expect to warm up with any of your long clubs on the range because it is only a couple hundred yards at the most. All of the employees were friendly and helpful. They kept an eye on our bags while we sat on the patio of the Coyote Grill after the round to finish our beers.
