This was my go-to place to buy glasses.
Today, it changed all that.
I went in with a shopping partner - we BOTH wanted to buy glasses. Not peruse. Not contemplate. BUY GLASSES. It was busy in the glasses shop there, but there were MULTIPLE times that the man sales guy looked me STRAIGHT IN THE EYES and didn't say: "Hi" "Be with you in a bit when I'm done with this person" "Are you looking to buy something? I can get someone to help you" "Do you want to sit here and I'll come by when I can" or any other greeting or acknowledgement. We could tell he was busy with customers. That's okay. For a brief 5 minutes, one woman came and helped us out and then disappeared without another word -- literally in the middle of selling to us, she just walked off and never came back.
Finally, after 20 or so minutes of being ignored, I asked the sales guy, "Do you think we can get someone to help us? We want to buy glasses." He rolled his eyes and said, "I'm really busy. You'll have to wait."
Nope. Nope, I don't have to. Glasses are not a rare commodity. Stores that sell glasses are all over Toronto. I am a patient of Dr Facchin's at the Eye Clinic, and I used to recommend this store to everyone - but if a customer comes directly TO YOU and asks to be helped -- at the very least be polite. That's all I'd ask for.
Major fail. Thanks for nothing.
