I tried to get my scratched rims repaired after they replaced two tires. 2 months after I've filed a complaint, they've come up with every excuse under the sun. I've seen these same scratches in pictures from other customers after receiving discount tire services.
They've suggested that the previous tires had some sort of rim edge guards that covered the rim damage that the new tires don't cover. Well, the reason I needed new tires was that the original tires had not been replaced since the car's initial sale. Therefore, the two remaining wheels have the original tires and I can compare to see if there is some type of "rim guard" on those. Nope. They're untouched by discount tire and the rims are perfectly fine.
I previously owned a car with plastic wheel covers and I managed to avoid scratching those, but they've tried to convince me that I managed to get curb rash on both rear tires in the couple of months that I've owned this particular car.
Ironically, the lack of maintenance from the previous owner (they never rotated or replaced tires) tells me that there should not be tool marks all over the rim.
