  • We've had more than an unusual amount of rainfall in the Valley lately which is how I found out that I had a leak coming through the ceiling and through a small section of a wall in my house! I initially called another roofing company, but it still took two weeks to even be scheduled. Mind you, I expressed my worry about the existing exposure and the fact that the weather forecast called for more rain in the days/weeks to come. This problem of mine didn't seem to matter to the other roofing company...I would still be scheduled the two weeks out. I only agreed to the scheduled appointment because they had such high Yelp ratings and of course don't we all want the best? I just prayed that the weather forecast would be off somehow and I wouldn't be hit with any rain. My prayers didn't help. It rained. My house leaked. I cried. Okay, so the other roofing guy came as scheduled, took a look at the problem and said that he would email me a proposal. That entire day, I waited but never received a proposal. Later that same evening, and because the forecast called for more rain this weekend, I decided to call another roofing company and here is where Desert Home Repair Services comes in. I had to leave a message but at around 7:30pm that night, I received a text from Ed. Thank goodness! He apologized for the late text and said he could schedule me the next day due to my urgent situation. Ed shows up today and on time. He takes a look at the ceiling and wall. He climbs on that ladder and walks the roof. He comes back down, tells me what the problem is and offers to fix it on the spot. WHAT THE HELL?! I was a little thrown off. Why in the world didn't the "other roofing guy" do the same? "Fix now" you say? Magic words to me. "Yes, fix it now", I say back. Okay, back to Ed. I accept the offer to have him fix....all that was needed was to patch a small section of the roof because a tile had slid off slightly which exposed the tarp. About 11 minutes later, Ed is done. Did you read that? ED IS DONE with the patch. I pay him, we shake hands and the whole pleasantry exchange-thing goes on for a minute or so and he leaves. I literally just checked my email before writing this review a few minutes ago and what sits in my Inbox is the proposal from the other roofing company (24hrs later mind you). I wish I could attach it here and show you all of the line items that they listed as needing to be fixed...just know that's it's approx. $2,000.00! TWO FRICK'IN THOUSAND DAMN DOLLARS! I paid Ed a FRACTION of that price. For you math people out there...I really paid Ed a fraction of a fraction!!! People of Las Vegas...listen to me, DO NOT USE ANYONE ELSE BUT ED. ENOUGH SAID, CALL ED. If you decide to call anyone else...you may get jacked. And, if nothing else, do yourself a favor and get at least three estimates and allow Ed to be one of the three. Stay dry everyone!
