| - Oh Gaucho, how I love thee.
I've been to Gaucho a few times now, but most recently to celebrate my dad's birthday following all of the renovations. For the building space they acquired, the amount of seating inside is surprisingly sparse. But who cares how close to other people you are when everyone is shoving their mouths full of wonderful, beautiful, perfectly cooked beef?
We went with my parents' friends and ended up ordering TWO carne platters and essentially every side on the menu, as well as some grilled shrimp. It's hard to pick a favorite out of everything, but I think that of the beef cuts, the ribeye was the winner, and the sides, the spicy corn pulled ahead as the most unique. That said, there wasn't a single bite that wasn't spectacular.
They recently applied for a liquor license, which is at once exciting and disappointing. I do love the fact that they are BYO without a corkage fee, but can imagine that they will come up with some uniquely Argentine cocktails to accompany the fare. I wonder where, exactly, the bar will be going?
