| - I live next door, so I was super excited about having a nail place so close by. I envisioned myself being a regular. That is not going to happen. The positives need to be stated first. The owner is extremely warm and welcoming. The place is spotless, and nicely decorated. They are ultra sanitary. The music was pleasant, and all the furniture and equipment were extremely modern and well-maintained. I was offered beverage, which was a nice touch. There are a nice array of colors. Now to the negatives, which will stop me from going back. I decided on the Luxe Pedicure, which is $45.00. Not cheap, but I liked the idea of a callus treatment, a refreshing mask, and steamed towel wrap. I would guess it would include a prolonged massage, but admittedly that was an assumption. The girl who did my pedicure never asked if the temperature of the water was okay. It was scalding hot. I told her that I wanted the Luxe. She hardly acknowledged me, so I wondered if she didnt hear me. I told her the price. She just said "okay". Absolutely no friendly interaction, but certainly had time to converse with her coworkers and on the phone while she did my toenails. No cuticle softener. I feel like she hardly worked on the nails themselves, and in fact, when I left, I noticed two toenails are jagged in an uneven way. Next, the callus treatment was merely mediocre..nothing really different from a typical manicure, except they used two types of scrub brushes. NO refreshing mask and NO towel wrap. She gave me a citrus scrub instead, which when I looked at the menu was classic of the $40.00 version. The massage was so weak and non-existent that I could not even call it a massage. Totally not relaxing. I watched the other people getting a full leg and foot massage, and it was clear that I wasn't getting what they got. The polish came out okay, but I was pushed through in 33 minutes. Never had I paid so much to be rushed so quickly. I was brought to the drying station, and of course, she was more than willing to speak me when it came pay time. She wanted cash instead of charge, which was understandable. Of course, I was charged $45 for a pedicure that wasn't given as described. I got $60 out of the ATM machine. When I asked for change of a 20 because I wasn't about to tip her my usual $10, I had to ask for change twice because she was trying to manuever it in a way that would get her $10. First, got $10 and two fives...then, I had to ask for her to break down the $10 and specify that I wanted singles. I gave her $7, which I still thought was too much, but since I worked in the service industry, I felt guilty giving less. Bottom line: I am lamenting that I have a nail place in walking distance from my home, but I will never go back to. Boo.
