Definitely off the beaten path, Eighty Acres is a diamond in the rough. The exterior of the building is nothing too attractive and if I hadn't have read about this place in Pittsburgh Magazine, I definitely would have turned around and went elsewhere.
The interior of the building is decorated to the tune of Rustic Americana.
I had the Roasted Beet Salad that had a perfect balance of deep fried goat cheese paired with crisp apple in mixed greens.
Next I devoured a mushroom, roasted tomato, pesto and goat cheese flatbread. It's basically an awesome 12" pizza. What I might have liked best is that there were plenty of vegetarian dishes to choose from.
The only downside is that the service I received was less than great, but I went at a weird time of day, so I'd consider that one my own fault.
