Okay, so I finally got to play the golf course that for years I've looked down upon while hiking Camelback. Let me preface that the course is amazing! I really enjoyed playing it. Summer rates are great too, $40 after 11AM.
I posted a few pics but they really don't give it justice. You are literally playing alongside Camelback Mountain. You'll feel like you are in a game of Golden Tee that's just how surreal the course and surroundings are. I definitely want to play it again and see if I can't give it more justice cause I just could not putt at all! LOL.
They had 2 beer cart girls running around in mobile buggies and they were great and were around every couple holes. They took credit card and add they add 18% tip at the end automatically. Sweet. No hassle finding an ATM. Cassie and Brandylynn kudos to you both.
Unfortunately, I have to rip to shreds all things outside of the course. I expected a lot more from such an amazing resort.
First off, the bathrooms on main floor were shut down so you had to go upstairs (annoying) and it was packed with golfers so you had to wait
The cafe restaurant right by the pro shop shut down at 10:30AM, when all I wanted was breakfast sandwich. WTF? Shut down? I was told to go upstairs. I get up there and ask for a breakfast sandwich or something really quick to go since I have a tee time and the bartender gives me a crazy look. She says we don't have any breakfast stuff, we can make you a turkey sandwich or something? I'm like..uh, yeah I have a tee time, how can you not offer quick stuff to go!?! I got a Nature Valley bar and left.
I get down to the cart and the starter says a single is going to join us...and we wait..and we wait..at the 1st tee for this guy..nothing. We just said screw this and started our round. Very unorganized. I've seen public Par 3's with more class and organization.
Positives-
Great course
Amazing views
Good beer cart service
Negatives-
Lack of service of golf staff
No quick food options (that I saw)
