| - It's okay. Not horrible, but not notable either.
We loved our 'go to' Chinese place in the south suburbs of Chicago, so we were looking for a new place here in Tempe. A friend suggested Hunan, so we decided to give it a try. Nothing compares with the awesomeness of Chicago food, so I guess we already realized it wouldn't live up to our standards.
Ordered: crab puffs, steamed potstickers, teriyaki chicken combo & orange chicken a la carte.
Crab puffs should really be called cream cheese puffs. Tasted no crab. Just 3 big blobs of cream cheese stuffed inside fried wonton wrappers, which came with 2 sauce cups of sweet & sour sauce. It was okay, just felt like false advertising to say they taste like crab even remotely.
Potstickers were okay. Nothing to write home about. Pretty bland overall. Sauce they came with redeemed them only slightly. Won't order them again.
Teriyaki chicken was 'meh'. Not too flavorful, and not something we'll order again. It came with an egg roll, which was good. It also came with egg flower soup. Not the best I've ever had, and I didn't finish it. Too many 'random' vegetables. I guess I'm used to straight egg drop soup (which is my favorite soup).
I'll try the orange chicken tomorrow as it was in the leftovers we put in the ice box.
