First tried their pastries at a bakery stand at St. Lawrence Market. Incredible stuff and when I was last in Toronto it ended up being Passover and I was invited to a seder in North York. But where to get a gift? I thought a nice Kosher for Passover pastry instead of a crappy botltle of Manischewitz Wine. Nice idea in theory but finding something decent? Good luck in downtown Toronto. However, I ended up at Dufflet because I found out on their website that not just is the owner Jewish but she has an extensive line of KforP cakes at decent (for Passover, mind you) prices! So I went over to Queen and got a Mocha Meringue and took it back to my hotel and then to the seder. Great move. Incredible layer after layer of meringue filled with mocha mousse in between. Something you just won't find in the states. Dufflet should get six stars (after all, the Star of David is six sided) for going to extra mil....I mean, kilometer! for doing some this extraordinary. A must for Passover or really anytime.
