| - For the most part, I'm a bargain and discount shopper who has a hankering love for vintage stores. I'm not a great big spender, and my knowledge of high-end brand names is pretty minuscule. So places like RA clothing are stores I tend to veer away from as I can't bring myself to spend unnecessary amounts of money for one or two pieces of clothing. However it just happened so that all my jeans decided to break due to years of having them and the retarded winter weather that Calgary has. My boyfriend, who unfortunately has rather expensive taste in clothes, dragged me into RA clothing to have a look. Having been in the store a few times, I do admit they have beautiful clothing for both men and women. With a variety of edgy, modern and eclectic fashion, this store caters to nearly anyone of all ages and varying sense of styles.
I have always found the staff to be really friendly, so it was no surprise for me to have a very exuberant saleslady approach me. I must say though, that this was the first time of exceptional and personal customer service. As I asked for help in picking out jean sizes and styles, she immediately looked me up and down and led me to a rack with Hudson jeans and gave me a pair that would compliment my height and body type. She gave me a size 24 to try on where I was a little apprehensive. For the record I'm petite but have a bit of curvature in the hips and bum where its rare me to get on such a size as I'm usually a 25 or 26. However with full-on confidence in telling me that these were "literally ass jeans" and to appease my boyfriend I tried on the jeans where I was in for a shocker. The pants fit where they were sooo comfy and no love handles or tightness were evident either! With the jeans living up to their ass jeans guarantee, my boyfriend was even eyeballing me and my bum (thanks perv lol). As I stood there, the saleslady gave me tips about how to find the proper jean sizes and styles. Despite that they were uber nice jeans, they also came with an ugly price...$268.00. I had to walk away from the store for about an hour before I went back and got them.
Although I'm happy with my first purchase of brand-name jeans, I'm a little annoyed that I'll have to dish out more cash to get them hemmed. All in all, it was a wonderful experience at RA Clothing and would go back in the future when I feel like being a great big spender. I would recommend other lady-shoppers to visit the place, even if you're like me who hates to spend the money, take a look at the clothing and to even get an idea of size and styles of clothing.
