| - Neat little place to go to when youre bored at home, which is literally me if im not at work, or to go with friends after a meal (cant verify this since i have like 0). If youre alone in this place with one of the employees, they'll probably engage you in conversation which is nice. Their gelato is good too and hits the spot if you ever crave something sweet. They also have good savory and sweet crepes. Their waffles they have arent good though.
The gelato they have is good and their scoops are extremely generous, but try to get there when a fresh batch is available. All of the gelato probably goes well with crepes, but you gotta have the right toppings to get the best dish. Try to combine things like cheese cake with oreo or strawberry to make good gelato better. Finally, don't just go in blind with their flavors, sample what interests you.
They also have little pastries like cream puffs, macarons, cheese cake, and a few more I cant list from the top of my head. Ive only had cream puffs there and it pretty much on par with a decent cream puff (its 2 for $1). Macarons are $1.00 each and that seems a bit too much since macarons are easy to make, but in all seriousness I cant name a place that doesnt over price their macarons.
Crepes are really flexible and can be made sweet or savory. The only savory crepes they offer is a crepe with egg and sausage with teriyaki sauce or sriracha. Theyre both good, but its not a filling meal. Their sweet crepes are what makes this place. Get some after eating a savory one, thatll fill you up. Though they have good crepes, it does take time to make and the wait will become much longer if they run out of batter. Sometimes the employees will forget you asked for a scoop of gelato on your crepe, just remind them if it happens. They are also generous with the whip cream on your crepe, so thats always nice.
Their waffles... dont get their waffles because it isnt a waffle. I think its just their crepe batter shaped into a waffle. Waffle batter has a higher fat ratio compared to crepes or pancakes so it can get fluffy. If you get their waffles you're getting a dense and unsatisfying one.
They also have coffee there, but I never had it. Closest thing I had was the affogato. ALWAYS EAT ANY AFFOGATO RIGHT AWAY. I know how most of you are taking snazzy pictures of your dishes, but try to dig right in when the affogato is at its best to get that perfect bite. The hot esspresso poured on top is naturally going to melt away the gelato. But anyway, the affogato is good and you should try it with the biscotti gelato.
Small things businesses do are what gets me. When you get a scoop of gelato they add a little cookie on the side making it look better and taste better.
The environment is clean, comfy, and welcoming. The employees are also free to play their music on the speakers and seeing the employees having a smidge of freedom like that can really make a change. I was sitting there and one of the employees was just playing ska, wu tang clan, and I think MF DOOM. Luckily im a fan of all those, but if you dont like the music theyre playing; just tell them and theyll be more than happy to change it. Volume can get loud too, but just tell them. They also have tvs playing local channels there, but I never care for that in most places. Its a somewhat slow place, so its usually quiet and nice place to have if you wanna be isolated with gelato and good crepes. Come here if youre having a bad day, itll do nothing but cheer you up a bit.
Some people may expect boba there, but they dont have it. If you want boba, just take 15 steps in any direction in the area and im sure you can get boba where you end up. This isnt a complaint, its a heads up because I feel like people ask for it at least once a day there.
Pros: good crepes and gelato with nice prices. Neat place to relax by yourself. Jammin tunes. Nice employees. Coolio pastries. Lenient place if you are short on some cash. Customer service is up there.
Cons: waffles only look like waffles, but arent waffles (catch my drift?). Music can be loud, but can be easily fixed. Workers can be a bit forgetful, but are willing to fix it right away as long as theyre reminded.
Advice: if something is wrong, tell them and theyll do their best to fix it. If youre unsure about any good combinations, just ask for some. Again: eat any affogato right away, try to resist taking photos like a savage tiger or at least have your camera on the ready. They offer little water cups thats at room temperature, so get ice with it if you want. They have Wifi there as long as you purchase something.
This review is longer than most of mine, but thats because im more familiar with the menu.
