  • This is a review for their grooming services. I brought in my goldendoodle puppy that has long hair for a summer haircut. He is only 5 months old and I have fallen in love with his shaggy look so I was very nervous about taking him to get groomed. I was drawn to Petco because I was able to make a same-day appointment and with the hot weekend coming up, I didn't want my pup to be miserable in the heat. Prior to the appointment, I looked up pictures of goldendoodle haircuts so that I could verbalize to the groomer what I liked and disliked. When I arrived, I told them that I did not want him to look like a poodle so essentially leave his head alone except for trimming the hair around his eyes (my poor pup is so shaggy that he could barely see!). For the body, I asked him to trim it, but to error on the longer side as we could always go shorter next time. When I arrived to pick-up my pup, I was almost in tears! My doggy who I have fallen in love with over the last 5 months did not look the same! He looked like a completely different dog! The body on my pup was groomed fine, although I would argue that it was a little too short , but he was so soft and smelled wonderful. However, they cut SOOOOO much hair off his sweet face! He looked like a total poodle too! I am just angry because I emphasized to the groomer to leave the head alone. Maybe they needed to do what they did because in their opinion it looked better, but I would have appreciated a phone call first or at least an explanation upon picking him up. At the end of the day, hair grows back so its not the end of the world. And I appreciate that they could fit me in on such short notice. They were also kind and professional, I just wish they didn't butcher my pups face! Pics to follow!
