  • Lets start with the good things, namely the wonderful staff at the Tropicana. Begining with our check in we were helped by Doug who was professional, fast and very cheerful. His courtesy went the extra mile and we really appreciate that. And of course you get that tasty Hilton Doubletree cookie on check-in. We were there for the TAM convention and spent most of our time in the convention part of the hotel. Our room was large and very clean. The catering staff was excellent and the food they served was very good! The fitness center/spa is also very nice, they have a wide variety of machines and a great view of the pool area. Ok now the not so good. The casino reeks of cigarette smoke. No joke its really nasty. Gotta work on that. Also, they use a deoderizer/air freshener in the rooms that is just gross. Luckily the windows opened in the rooms so we could air it out. Thankfully, the convention area is smoke free so there was relief from the smoke for most of the stay. Also, we really wish the pool would have been open past 7:00pm. A late night swim would have been wonderful. Overall, smokers aside, we had a very nice time at the Tropicana.
