First let me say this is a very high end mall with some very high end businesses so it was surprising they would tolerate the very low end practices of some of the businesses there.
FIRST: I went into Williams Sonoma. I was looking at the Nespresso espresso machine when a salesperson told me they were all on sale. I picked one and she consulted a clipboard and told me it was normally $149 but on sale for $89, would I like one? Yes! So she went in the back and brought it to me as I waited in line. When I made it to the check out I was told it was $104. I had the sales person come over with her clipboard but was told that price was wrong. Bait and switch?
SECOND: I went into the Crocs store. The sign in the window said Big Sale. I found a pair under a sign that proclaimed $39! My wife found a pair under a sign for $19 but at the check out mine was $54 and hers were $39. the clerks response, the signs must be wrong. Bait and switch?
THIRD: At this point lunch seemed like a good idea. Not wanting to eat in the food court I chose a nice looking sit down restaurant Z 'Tejas Southwestern Grill. We had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. A small boy was running in and out of the restaurant, going up the near by stairs and sliding down the hand rail. Security came and asked who the boy belonged to. The hostess said the mother was inside and security left. As we walked inside we saw the mother sitting at the bar drinking. The table next to where we were seated had a woman talking on a cell and drinking beer while her kids were throwing smashed up crackers all over the place. Thank God they were leaving but it took two employees several minutes to clean up the mess. Then came the dog ladies. Three women in work out clothes with a dog. After their drinks came (margaritas I think) they were met by a guy on roller skates with two back packs, one in back one in front. He weaved between the tables like a slalom skier. The dog started barking and the human at the end of the leash had to be asked to take it outside. At several tables we noticed women with baby strollers drinking wine.
Is this the mall's fault? It is if they tolerate people behaving badly and shady business practices.
