| - My displeasure was to wordy for YELP so if you're looking for a patio cover company I strongly DO NOT recommend Proficient Patio as your contractor.
I typically don't write ruthless reviews, I leave it to those that have nothing to do but complain. BUT, when you pay above $16,000 for a project you presume to get accurate work and the product which you requested. Note, this project was in conjunction with several others and I required for my patio cover to be completed on time. Those of you that are looking to add a PATIO COVER, I STRONGLY suggest NOT selecting "Proficient Patios" (PP).So what happened, I picked a pool company to install my pool and I inquired if they knew a patio cover company that had a great reputation. The pool company recommended PP. They stated that they worked with them in the past and had a great working relationship. So I met with PP and right off the start I felt like an unwelcome shopper. I waited twenty-two (22) minutes before somebody questioned if I wanted to get a patio cover. I informed them which patio cover my spouse and I had selected along with electric shade screens to go on the patio cover. I then had to wait several more minutes to meet with the owner who I envision was the only one that could sign the contract. The meeting lasted all of seven (7) minuets and only because he pressed me in between two other of his more essential customers. He was able to hand draw the patio cover after I gave him the dimensions. So within seven minutes he'd drawn the sketch and provided the estimated cost of $16,800. Note: The display models on the showroom floor and on the web site both looked awesome. So what went WRONG, after the initial meeting with the owner I never saw him until he stopped by the house to conduct his final inspection. He never conducted an initial inspection of the backyard nor did he communicate with the pool company to see if the pool design and patio cover were compatible. I had a strong feeling that the Pool Company and the Patio Company failed to collaborate to get the project done correctly. I asked the pool project manager if he was in contact with PP and he asked me if I wouldn't mind making contact with them and inform them when it was OK for PP to start their work. No group effort what so-ever. So the pool was finished and came out as requested but the patio cover was a disaster. The length of the patio cover was built to the length as requested, but the height was not. I have Rolladen shutters installed on my windows and I required the height of the cover to be six inches above the shutters. The builder stated he couldn't go to that height due to the wall structure of the house...OK, something the PP owner should havecaught upon his sight visit which didn't occur.I also requested electric screens to be installed that were basically attached to the columns, but the worker who installed the columns put in the improper ones, again something the PP owner should have caught upon his sight visit which didn't occur. The columns he installed prevented the shades from having a closure along the column itself. So I had to change my initial request and have a wire guided shades installed which left gaps between the shade and column. So why didn't I have them switch out the column? Because the removal and re-installation of the correct columns would have caused the pool to be redesigned and all the pipes, rod iron, and concrete to be redone, basically it wouldhave delayed the other projects. The biggest mistake by PP was the placement of the three columns. The current placement holds the patio cover up and is in conjunction with the current design of the pool, but since there was no communication with PP and the poolcompany the left column was placed in line with the dining room window. How is this incorrect you ask....well when the contractor went to install the screen shades the installation had to be deviated so the shade bracket would make contact with the wall and not the window. Yes, that's correct I have three shades installed that line up with the patio cover and one that is an angle because the columns were not at the correct location, again something the PP owner should have caught upon his sight visit. The owner never stated the project was all ****** up but I know that he knew it was....WHY, because he never took pictures of the final project to upload to his WEB SITE. Don't want a messed up patio cover to show his futurecustomers. The owner did show up a second time towards the end of the project with two trainees. The trainees
seemed more attorneys then trainees. Cover your @$$ I'm guesstimating. Oh yeah, the remote that operates the shades is out of sequence when it comes to raising and lowering the shades. As you count from left to right the sequence is out of order. 1, 3, 2, 4. I STRONGLY suggest NOT choosing "Proficient Patios" as your patio cover contractor..
