  • I normally use a different brand of extensions that I love. But I have to order them and wait for them to come in the mail. But, I had a client insist that she go with me to buy the hair so she could pay for it. I guess she had trust issues, idk. So I decided to go into a local hair store with her and let her pay for it. That is the last time I will ever do that again. We went into United Beauty Supply and we bought some 22in I tip 808 hair in a light blond but I can't remember the exact color. It was crazy expensive, more than I get my normal hair for. I did let her know that since I was unfamiliar with this brand I couldn't guarantee the quality. Thank God I said that. I put them in for her and they looked really pretty. Afterwards, I was telling a co-worker of mine that I was nervous because she used a different kind of hair that she bought herself. She asked me what kind and I told her. She then told me a story about a time when a client of hers brought that same kind of hair in from The Hair Shop, the 808 hair, and it matted up so bad she had to cut it all out. I was horrified but hoping this didn't happen to my client. Because how could this happen to everybody? It couldn't right? Well my client came back in about 5 weeks after I put her hair extensions in and asked if I could give her a deep conditioning treatment. I use a hair mask on her that contains no protein or anything detrimental to hair extensions. And left it on for 10 minutes. When I rinsed her hair out everything seemed fine and the hair felt soft I twisted it, put it on top of her head, and wrapped it up in a towel. I then asked her to go back to my chair and sit down and I took the towel off of her head and let her hair down. It was all bunched up into one big dreadlock! We tried like hell to comb it out but it was locked up so tight that we could not even get a comb through the middle of this big. We ended up having to take them out, and thank God her natural hair did not get tangled up in them. it just slipped right out of that rats nest. Needless to say she was not happy that she paid so much for hair that she had to throw away 5 Weeks Later. I have never seen anything like this before. There is absolutely no reason that this should have happened, and there is no reason that the hair should say Remy on the package because it obviously isn't. There's something going on here.
