I love Hong Kong style buns. They're not just one of my favourite baked goods, but actually one of my favourite foods generally. Sometimes I'll get a craving and think quickly going to the Cocobun near Peel/Guy/Atwater stations is a good idea but ... it's not and it makes me sad that many Montrealers probably only ever experience Cocobun pineapple buns. The coconut filling bun I had was dry, bland and unevenly filled. The chicken teriyaki bun (I was intrigued) tasted weirdly artificial and way too sweet.
Sure, they're cheap. But you can do SO much better. Go to Chinatown for your fix. Literally any place in Chinatown. Harmonie, Callia, Legende (they're all next to each other anyway). They also have more options and are generally cheaper.
