I am a self-claimed boba enthusiast and could probably write a book about boba. That being said, I had to stop by a boba shop, especially with a name like OMG boba. And guess what people? OMG this place suck so bad.
AMBIANCE/LOCATION
OMG boba is one of the few boba shops in Summerlin. Great for people that live in the area so they don't have to make a trip down to Chinatown just for a boba fix. I think one of the reason why this place is not up to par and never will be with other boba shops in town is because there is no competition in the area. This place is definitely not for people looking for their best cup of boba in town so do not go with high expectation.
Located in the same plaza as Big Lots and Savers. Lots of parking spaces and the store itself is small with few tables and chairs along the wall. It can get awkward since there is no music. Place is quiet, probably even more quiet than any local library I've been to.
SERVICE
Again, do not expect anything spectacular. Very chill and people here will not go the extra mile to give you suggestions or ask how the drinks are. I find the lady at the counter somewhat rude but it is probably just the tone of her voice.
DRINK
They use natural ingredients/fresh fruits for their drinks. Sadly I am not really a fan of slushes and all I ever get are milk teas, hence this review is strictly on my usual -Jasmine Milk Tea.
Jasmine milk tea here is flavorless. It tasted diluted, if not more like a flavor water. I am glad I got lychee jelly on my most recent visit because without the lychee jelly, my drink would have been a flavorless drink with flavorless boba. Lychee jelly added enough sweetness and made my drink refreshing.
Boba here has absolutely no flavor. I hate the boba here. Outer layer of boba is super gooey and gelatinous yet the inner part is extremely chewy like it's not cooked. Most boba shops I've been to use honey or brown sugar to sweeten the boba. This place uses nothing for their boba and that's something they should change.
CONCLUSION
Great for people in the area who are in need of boba fix and craving healthy, light drinks made with natural ingredients but their boba sucks. They do have other toppings but I rather drive to Chinatown for a more decent drink and boba.
