I got engaged last year and we were married on October 4, 2014. I'd always hope that I would have my wedding reception at a hotel because, hey, the guests can party all night and then stroll to their hotel rooms. ;-)
My husband came home one day with an idea to check out the Sheraton Cleveland Airport Hotel as a possible reception site. At first, I was very skeptic - who would want their reception at an airport hotel?? Well, as soon as I walked in the beautiful lobby and met Monica (the event coordinator) my opinion changed.
Prior to officially booking our reception with them, my husband and I did a tasting. WOW. The food was incredible and we picked a pesto chicken dish and a steak. Once we tasted the food and was continued to be blown away by the service, we immediately booked our reception :-) This was by far the best decision we made for our October 2014 wedding.
The Sheraton Hotel is a wonderful place for a wedding reception! We had about 130 guests and had our cocktail reception from 6-7 and the reception was 7-12 am. A selling point was that there was a bar in the hotel that the guests could go to after the reception that was open until 2 am. This was PERFECT for our friends love to party!
Throughout the whole experience, Monica (the coordinator) was there for us. She accommodated our weird requests (e.g. "ummm can the chef include a Greek dressing for the salad and can you add kalamata olives to the salad because I love mediterranean food?") We could use any vendors we chose (no "cake cutting fee" for not using one of their bakeries) and felt freedom to have the reception of our dreams.
The week leading up to the wedding was painless because Monica and her colleagues were extremely helpful and professional. Monica even put together our centerpieces and they looked great. They included some centerpiece materials we could use and allowed us to bring our own too! Fabulous.
During the reception, Monica and Abigail (one of her colleagues) check on us frequently to make sure we were 100% satisfied. She even packed up all of our gifts for us to be taken to our hotel. The chef also came by to check on us - he is very friendly and personable. The food at the wedding actually tasted like the original tasting we had back when we booked! Everyone kept commenting on how wonderful the food tasted. I also want to mention that I had some gluten free and vegetarian guests and they were easily accommodated at the Sheraton.
I highly recommend the Sheraton Cleveland Airport Hotel for your wedding reception needs!
