Very pleased with the renovations
I moved into the area with my boyfriend who is an Etobicoke native, where as I am a Downtown/Liberty Village girl. He had been going to Crooked Cue since he was young to play pool with his Dad. When we first moved into the area it seemed like the only option if we wanted to stay close and play pool. It certainly seemed dated, but no complaints otherwise.
We went last week to play pool and hadn't even realized they finished their renos. We were really taken by the transformation. The retracting roof is awesome, the bar is beautiful and the drink specials are well thought out. I am so happy to have a place to bring family and friends when they visit me, as opposed to making excuses to meet them downtown.
My only qualm is the price. Before, and now after renos it is still painful to look at your bill at the end of the night. There should be more nights, or even afternoons with specials either for pool and food, or food and beer. I don't think I've ever managed to walk out paying less than 100$.
Also to no fault of theirs I'm sure.. Real problem with fruit flies. My boyfriend went to the washroom and came back to 3 flies swimming in his beer. Not sure that's something they can combat, but worth noting
