We arrived rather early for dinner, around 5 pm on a Friday. The restaurant was near empty so we had our choice of tables. Enjoyed a front window seat, excellent service from Nivia... and some really great eats (we are fairly recent ex-San Diegans, who take our Mexican food seriously). We don't find a lot of good Mexican on the East coast side... outside of major foodie areas like NYC but Charlotte definitely has a selection and the Cantina is a good choice. Excellent margaritas, great tacos and guacamole... would definitely ask for spicy. The spicy wasn't our definition of spicy, but it was quite flavorful. Our first test of a Mexican restaurant is the chips and salsa, both very good here and made in house.
