rev:text	Located in the Skycity Shopping Centre just a smidge north of Midland and Finch, Boba Boy is up against a lot of competition. Just off the top of my head I can think of Sharetea, CoCo, Royaltea, Chatime, Tealicious Tea House, and Latea Era which are all within 5 mins walking distance from each other. Boba boy distinguishes itself by having a wide slew of items on their menu such as: 1) fresh egg waffles ??? 2) cakes (ordered from Larocca) 3) fresh egg rolls ?? 4) ice-cream (I think ordered from a supplier) 5) bon bons a la Cafe de Paris style and 6) making fresh tapioca like The Alley. I think market differentiation is critical for any business, but part of me wonders if they are trying to cover too much ground. Their menu will indicate which flavor of tapioca they are making that day. (For example Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday they will make matcha tapioca.) I was most interested in taro tapioca, but seeing as they used the bright purple powder to make the drink I would assume they wouldn't use taro paste as the base for the tapioca either. Even if I still wanted it, Taro tapioca is only available Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I think the concept of fresh tapioca is great, but I'd hate to crave something and can't get it because they aren't offering it that day. I ordered the earl grey milk tea and it was alright. It wasn't a strongly brewed tea and leaned on the sweeter side. You cannot customize sweetness nor amount of ice at Boba Boy, or at least I wasn't told I could choose nor was it mentioned on the menu. All in all, I think it was OK and most likely will come back to try their fresh tapioca and an egg roll to see if my opinion changes.
