I took my 2 year old to the ER on a Sunday because she had a swollen hand by the time I arrived both hands and feet were swollen. The ER Doctor (Dr. Anderson) diagnosed her with hand foot mouth disease and also mentioned that she may have Kawasaki Disease. They looked at the swelling but never examined her. I took her to her pediatrician on the following Monday, the pediatrician knew right away that she did not have HFMD or Kawasaki Disease and that she was bit by a spider or bee and had an allergic reaction. She was misdiagnosed because they were trying to rush us out of there. While I appreciate that they don't want people waiting around, I would of rather spent more time there and had the correct diagnoses since I will end up paying an arm and a leg for this visit. I am very disappointed at the Doctor.
