| - We came here New Year's Eve for some laughs, and overall it was an ok experience. The comedy was better than I had expected, and I certainly laughed a lot more than I had anticipated. The space is interesting in that there truly isn't a bad seat in the house when it comes to seeing the stage. But there are better seats to be had for avoiding the sardine situation. The hubs and I are pretty social when it comes to strangers, but the main floor is uncomfortably tight. We were lucky to get a corner booth 4-top with our friends when we arrived about 20 minutes early, which was much more spacious than the main floor. But two of us sat with our backs to the other two - just a little strange when the goal is to still be in a social setting with your friends.
The mixed drinks did not look or sound appetizing, so I stuck to beer. And much to my surprise they had some craft beer! It was expensive but a relief to enjoy my drink. The food was....bar food. Nothing crafty about it, just pretty greasy and also expensive. Our tickets actually came with an appetizer platter, but it wasn't worth the unsettled stomach. Definitely stick to drinks only and grab food at some other joint around the neighborhood.
The other notable disadvantage in their packed setting was the staffing - there seemed to be WAY too few people serving a full house, and we only saw our waitress twice the whole night. I felt bad for her, so I wouldn't call it bad service per se. But everyone working seemed pretty frantic, which makes for somewhat awkward customer service for those of us trying not to be high maintenance. I don't feel super eager to come back for any ole weekend night of fun, but for the right comedian I wouldn't hesitate to return.
