On our trip to LA we decided to make a random and quick trip to Vegas for NYE. I was hearing on the news that Vegas hotels were full and they were expecting more people there (than usual) because NYE landed on a Saturday. Maybe we should've decided earlier on going to Vegas or not, because hotels were going from anywhere between $399-$9999 a night. And I did not want to be spending that much money on a room to sleep a couple of hours in. My clever bf (Les M.) had booked us at the courtyard Marriott off the strip, it's somewhat near the Mandalay bay, on the opposite side of the freeway for $210. I would not normally want to spend that amount for a hotel room, but it's NYE in vegas! They had everything we needed, a clean room, a bed, and they even had a shuttle to and from the strip (free). The shuttle stopped early on NYE (3pm) but every other day a sign was posted that it ran from 7am-1am. They also had a shuttle that went to the airport, but I can't remember what the hours were. They have no valet because the parking is right up front, no need for it. Forget making coffee in your room in the morning, they have complimentary coffee in the lobby. Just make yourself a cup before heading out. No smoking and no casino! Perfect hotel for us on NYE on a budget in Vegas.
