Great experience for my first half marathon!
I specifically chose the Las Vegas race for my first time because my dad used to live in the area and therefore thanks to being there every year on the holidays, I happen to know that Las Vegas in winter is coooold. Basically, my favorite condition to run in.
There were plenty of porta-potties at different mile markers along the way, and more than enough water/Cytomax stops. I didn't even really need the two GU gels I had tucked into my belt.
Bret Michaels is a good entertainer. It was fun actually watching him in person, since honestly my only exposure to him prior was his music on the radio, his reality show and his "other" reality show (ahem). Fun way to end the race.
Flat course and they had people of all athletic abilities covered. The only thing I'd do differently is train for the difference in altitude.
I wasn't a fan of the part of the course not on the strip, kind of depressing scenery. I guess that should be incentive to run faster the next time.
