After a grueling morning of trying/failing to get in to other walk-ins in the area, I find out my health card expired. I went to Service Ontario at Yonge and College and before giving up my plan to get some tests done at a walk-in, I saw the Bay College Medical and Lockwood Diagnostics across the street. At this point I was expecting the worst.
The receptionist was ACTUALLY friendly and informative. When I asked her how long I'd have to wait (been told minimum 2 hours at other places) she told me 30-45 minutes. I half believed her because there weren't many people in the waiting area. I think I was less than 30 minutes in when Dr. Z. Kara called my name. He was quick with his questioning, but very friendly and showed a level of care I wasn't expecting. I was pleased with this doctor's bedside manners and really appreciated how quickly I was seen. The nurses that assisted him were also very caring and friendly. He sent me up to do blood work on the 5th floor, which literally took less than 5 minutes. What a turnaround! So glad the day went the way it did so that I could end up at this place and leave feeling taken care of and satisfied.
There was also a man giving out free nut bars during the wait but I don't think he was a part of the walk-in. I found it smushed in my bag today and ate it on the way to work. Thanks random guy!
