  • I am improving my rating of New West from 1 star to 4 stars as they have addressed 2 issues recently in a very business like and customer satisfaction manner. The air conditioning repair issue, due to the repair being under $100 ($95) was originally billed to us. Once they fully realized that the blocked up ductwork due excessive filters (extra ones in the ducts and the main one needing replacement) was an item that was there when we moved in and not realized until we had a warm day in March they billed the property owner and we got our payment refunded by the A/C repair company. This got them to 3 stars as by doing the right thing here they deserve a satisfactory rating. We had another The LVVWD sent us a letter saying they suspected we had a water leak. Once they got the owner's OK to fix it (it was in the section between the main distribution point and the house thus nothing related to our actions (underground)) they went beyond and got us a reimbursement for the excess water usage (1 gallon every 3") and charged this back to the owner and also the repair to the owner. This gets them to 4 stars! The only thing keeping them from a 5 star rating is that we were charged $125 due their process of using check truncation rather than depositing checks in the normal way. Due the fact that we have a debit block on our account for EFT(regular checks go thru just fine) they charged us a return fee of $50 and a late fee of $75 because now we have to get money orders every month to pay them each month per their request. If this is eventually reimbursed (at least one of these 2 fees) I would have no issue with raising the rating to 5 stars assuming the customer service stays as good as it has been lately. The fact that in our last 3 places where we lived we have gotten 100% of our security deposit back shows that we care for our rental and they have realized that we are a good customer and we realized their about face in dealing with our rental. We earnestly hope that this better relationship will continue and I am confident that it will. As information they are very easy to get to. Just take the #202 Flamingo bus and get off at Flamingo and Lindell. If coming from the North or South the 102 Jones bus to Flamingo and Jones requires only a short walk to their building or you can transfer to the #202 Flamingo and get off on 2 stops at Lindell and Flamingo to avoid most of the short walk.
