| - I have been a loyal customer to my boy Henry a.k.a. (dolla) for about 6+ yrs now, when he was on the west side to his newer location in the meadows mall. I have yet to meet another barber as consistent and professional as Dolla and the other barbers as well as E, Joc, Zeek and Bear! Every time I have gotten my hair cut from this shop I have always been satisfied.
I have brought all my boys to dolla to get there hair cut and he does a great job w the kids, he's very attentive and knows who to deal w there sensitivity and nerves. I watched him in action and was very impressed usually within the 1st min I can tell if my kids will like the barber.
My most recent experience at Murray's Barber Shop was beyond good, we did are usual greet and Dolla let me know there's one person ahead of me, (most times it's 2-3 depending on the time) which is ok because I feel like I'm at home and the time flys when we're joking and catching up on the latest news, shoes, sports and entertainment. It's interesting to hear all the different opinions in the shop it always ends in good spirits.
When it is my turn Dolla makes me super comfortable and sets me up real professional, at times I've almost taken a nap. He's very communicative in finding out in detail what kind of cut you would like, since I'm a regular he just asks "you want the usual" ?, it takes about 20 minutes and when he's finished I feel like a new man.
The hot towel on my face makes me feel like I'm in a spa and there's no extra charge for it! I will admit for any person who is not used to a "black barber shop" the experience can seem a bit aggressive, but if your not intimidated by a few large black men while walking by the window and you actually make it to a seat inside you will soon find out that these are great guys having fun while doing what they love to and that's cutting hair.
