  • The Barkley is the BEST place to leave your dog while you party it up out of town. I took a tour of the facilities a few months ago and decided I could not leave my Elektra in one of those depressing kennels that seem to be everywhere here. I didn't do any of the upgrades because I am inherently cheap. That said, if I had the cash I probably would have signed her up for swimming because she loves water. She got a bath on the way out and came back energetic and clean. They took care of her food and for the first time I was not worried about her while I was out of town. I don't have any cats, but "Kitty City" looked awesome. The upgraded rooms for dogs where awesome. Fantastic decorating and the presidential suites even have easy chairs! I did not take advantage of the online camera options, but it is a cool idea. What makes the Barkley truly stand out? Doggy day care looked like so much fun we are starting to take Elektra weekly to keep her socializing. The staff is professional and clearly loves animals. Within days of our visit they called to check-up and make sure Elektra had a good time. Although it is kind of ridiculous to ask me whether she had a good time, I truly appreciate the effort they make to make sure we felt good about her stay. The Barkley is the only place I will leave Elektra....
