while i give cleveland a thumbs up for being a midwest city in the rust belt area with an actual tranportation system, i give it a thumbs down for being well...a public transportion styem in the rust belt. maybe i'm spoiled by chicago's easy to follow directions or the fact that you can ask someone a question and they'll know the anwer. apparently the rta trains run on the honor system. we bought all day passes but noticed we didn't have to swipe them for all the stations and there was something about having to activate the cards...but it wasn't really clear what they meant. when we asked if one of the trains was still running a woman working at the station actually had to pull out a schedule and look it up. i don't work for the cta here in chicago and i can tell you when all the trains stop running. one of the trains we got on to had no driver for over 15 minutes we just sat there waiting for him to show up hoping we were actually on the right train. stations were unmanned so if you did have questions you were out of luck. we were going to take buses too but we decided to just make it easier and call a cab.
