Got 2 donuts and a med. coffee. Specialty brews there. Not instant- $5 and some change, not including tip. I left a "thought" tip in the form of a topical poem:
I love you
I love you,
With all of my soul.
If I had
A donut,
I'd give you the hole.
The name is what attracted me. It means something. It means NOT a cake donut. Cake donuts are the instant coffee of the donut world- it only resembles the real thing like a celebrity look-a-like, (for the record, that was an analogy of an analogy.)
So when someone advertises raised and glazed, not only are they advertising the real thing- they're also indicating their understanding of the importance of the real thing. The attention and expertise of making a real, delicious, wonderful circle of joy. Glazing not only the top, BUT also the bottom of the donut! The chocolate topped donuts with chocolate put on OVER the original glaze. Their personal touch on the sweetest of bread treats. NO Cysco purchased donut mix! Sweep away the instant look-a-likes and fakers.
That being said, mostly what was in their case was cake donuts and other pastries- other than raised and glazed donuts. ):
