| - I booked a couples massage for Voda Spa in late August. The location is nice and quiet - easy to find parking and tucked away in Eau Claire. But a big emphasis on the word 'quiet'. When we walked in, a (literal) child was working at the front desk who skipped away to grab an adult. The spa was basically empty the entire time we were there, which should have signaled that this place wasn't the greatest. Everything just felt awkward and stilted; there was no music playing, the grey decor was very stark and cold, and my husband and I had to wait for a good 15 minutes past when our appointment was to start before finally being ushered into an already chilly room, where a fan was also running.
While my husband's massage was 'average', mine was downright dreadful. I'm not entirely convinced my therapist was registered as my combined receipt at the end of the day only included the therapist that worked on my husband, and the massage basically consisted of being lathered up with a bunch of oil and literally no tissue relief. We left the spa with a bad taste in our mouth. The little perks we're used to at other spas - like robes, a beverage bar, a soothing atmosphere, and yes, a good treatment - were completely non-existent. I'd never, ever go back here, not for a massage or any other service. The staff wasn't very friendly and the entire experience was just frosty and cold.
