| - I have to put a review in because of how disappointed I am in this place. Over one year ago, this was one of my favorite places for brunch. The chef changed about one year ago and their quality was nowhere near what it used to be. I remember the pastry was not as good and the food in general was mediocre after the new chef came in. As a local, only I would know that. We chose to go to different places because Las Vegas has so many incredible places for brunch, both on and off the strip. We were staying nearby for a staycation and decided to give it another try earlier today at about 11:30 AM.
In my opinion, this place is a phenomenal tourist trap. We only waited 15 minutes for a table but it was what happened shortly after that left me completely disappointed and unappreciated as a customer...
We were sat at a table that would be for four and there are only two of us. It was blocked by a large wood panel which made the area dark and gloomy. We noticed at least three other open tables for two people each. We asked if we could be sat at one of those tables instead. We would never have asked if our table was the only one available. We were not looking to sit outside but we were looking for the best option should it be available, which three options were! The hostess that was helping us was more robotic than anything else, clearly showing that intelligence and a flair for customer service are not required to work here. When we explained that we would like to sit at a different table, pointing to the tables available, none of which were anything special and between so many other people and in a very busy section, we were told that those may be reserved for a CEO or a VIP, yet it was confirmed that none were expected at this time! The hostess went as far as to say that we would have to walk back with her to the front if we wanted to change our seats. We were so kind to her the whole time and we were shocked 'internally', trying not to show reaction. After she said that, I explained that she just made us feel like we are worthless and completely unappreciated as a customer. I also explained to her that without my business, a CEO doesn't have a job. My friend and I are blessed to do extremely well and we both know that no CEO or VIP would ever insist to sit in these areas as they were completely stuffed with other people, very limited in space, and there was no privacy.
Not even five minutes later, a gentleman came over and it was clear that he was doing everything possible to correct the situation. By this time, we tried not to show reaction but we were both completely let down. He offered us another table and insisted. We followed him and he placed us at another table for four that was close to the outside, yet it was right smack in the path of waiters which would mean we would constantly be in close proximity to waiters passing us by and causing us discomfort because of that. The other three tables were still empty. He actually believed he gave us a great table. He insisted on offering us a drink on the house yet I don't drink! My friend was trying to be nice so she said she would take a Bellini. Not even 30 seconds into sitting there, we already had a waiter bumping into our chairs, not in anyway his fault, because the table was in his way. We chose to get up and we left.
I will never try this place again and I will not recommend it to anyone because it is deplorable. This restaurant has forgotten that in hard times, locals are what keep business going. As a local, through my own actions and word-of-mouth, I will not be encouraging business for this restaurant ever again. Yet most importantly, this restaurant has forgotten that every customer is a VIP.
