| - I was so excited to stay at this 'world class Resort' but my excitement was quickly diminished. When room rates are $250+ a night, one would expect exceptional service. Check in was easy but front desk agent was not friendly. Not even a smile. The concierge highlighted a map of how to get to my room which was quite a hike. The exterior of the villas were in complete disrepair. Which, I do believe many parts of the hotel are under construction but it was literally the entire hotel. Men working on one of the buildings near by stopped and stared as I walked by which made me very uncomfortable. I avoided that route the rest of the stay. The room it self was upgraded with granite counter tops, new carpets and very clean. The towels how ever were horrible. Itchy and scratchy. The ones in my home are nicer than these. Again, not resort quality. Walls are paper thin, you can hear people showering and talking. I went back down to the front desk to drop something off for my husband. I had to stand there and say excuse me because both agents (one with the name tag that said front desk manager) didn't even notice I was standing there. The pools look nice from afar but once you are near or in them, they are hideous. The tile in the pool looks as though it has never been scrubbed since it's inception. The pool net was full of trash and leaves. I don't think the pool deck has ever been swept. Chunks of the pool walls were missing. There was no wait staff at the pool for drinks or food. A large sign states to use the courtesy phone to call for service, yet there was no extension or # to call. I ended up calling from my cell phone. Trash was piled up in corner and on the stairs up to the work out facility. The phone operator Eric (I called multiple times and this man answered every time) transferred my call while I was mid sentence explaining my situation. This happened 3 times on separate occasions. The kicker to my trip was breakfast at one of their restaurants. I sat alone at my table for about 10 minutes and finally had to flag a server down. He stated 'oh I thought you were getting the buffet'. Clearly, I was not. He poured my coffee and left. Again, I had to flag him down for my order. I ordered eggs Benedict and asked him to have the chef add sautéed spinach and tomatoes. He just stared at me and then said 'uh, like on top'? While waiting for my complicated order of eggs Bennie, I asked for a glass of water. 2 seconds later, he slides a glass on my table that I'm 100% sure he just took off someone else's dirty table. There were chapstick lip prints and fingerprints on the glass. Excuse me while I go barf. My order came out correctly to my surprise. Now wondering how clean any of my table ware was, I just picked at my food and left. I had called the day prior asking for a late check out. The next day while in the shower, I hear a knock on the door from housekeeping. I have no idea if housekeeping came into my room or not, as I did not have the door latched. Awkward. This hotel also advertises that it is a non-smoking hotel. As in, no where on premises but it is not enforced, people were smoking everywhere. Overall my experience left me more disgusted than anything. I would not classify this place as a resort, it's just an over priced hotel.
