It's always good when a mechanic starts the conversation with "you got lucky." My car's AC stopped working. Fortunately, it quit in March, not July. Took it in for a diagnosis fearing the worst. Just got my tax refund and I could see it evaporating as I arrived at Mike's. Even though the parking areas were full, they checked me in right away. After a quick look, the car was moved outside a service bay to have test equipment connected. All of the Freon was gone. After half an hour, the mechanic let me know a valve had failed allowing the gas to leak out. Cost for the new valve - $1. New Freon - $100 (thanks EPA). Add an hour labor charge and I was on the road with a working AC in less than two hours. Fast, friendly, expert and did I mention fast? Way beyond expectations. I hope to not visit often, but will definitely visit again the next time repair is needed.
