Through complete fault of my own I had recently found my laptop to be out of commission after I plugged it in and sparks flew. I took it into Best Buy to be looked at where a Geek Squad associate told me it would be a big repair costing me $450. I was set on buying a new computer, at that cost. While shopping around for a new laptop at Future Shop I enquired about my problem and told me to go find a small computer repair shop. Apparently when your computer is not under warranty they can't help fix your problems?
Enter TechKnow Space. It is super close to my place which is the number one reason I went there but I also I found Nikita to be very helpful. I first ask some general questions which he took the time to answer and a week later when Nikita saw my computer he explained to me that it wasn't a problem with the part I though it was (a/c adapter jack) but a problem but the board holding it in place. I left my computer for diagnostics to see if they could get the part and fix it. Diagnostics is $40 but if you go ahead with the repair, the fee is waived. It turned out they could get the part the next day and they managed to do the repair in one day. I was anxious to get my computer back but not in any hurry. Still Nikita called and left messages for me at each step of the way. When I picked it up he was even nice enough to get me and a/c adaptor to plug into my computer and show me that my problem had been fixed. Total repair was $135 which is nothing when you get to keep your old computer and not have to buy a new one!
