| - My husband is really tough to buy for, so I finally settled on a tasting at the Whisky Attic for his Christmas gift. We finally made it in to spend the gift certificate in February. The experience is very informative, and also very fun. We knew a little about whisky, but learned a lot more from JD, who was super personable and of course, extremely knowledgeable. After teaching us the tasting method and giving us some history, he figured out our "flavor profile" and selected 5 unique whiskys for both me and my husband to try. I love that we sampled stuff I had never heard of and even better that I actually LIKED them all! As a bonus, JD told us about how much each one would cost and where we could find it in town.
The whole thing took over 2 hours, and we really enjoyed ourselves...we were the only 2 guests on a Thursday evening, which made me more likely to ask questions!
I would recommend a tasting at The Whisky Attic to anybody who likes whisky or thinks they might like whisky or who wants to buy a unique gift for somebody. I guarantee you will try something new!
My only only only beef with the place is the cost. I totally get that a private tasting for 2 people would cost $150, but I wish there was a more affordable option. Maybe they could do large groups once a week or something at only $40 or 50 each? At a lower price point, I would definitely return.
