  • cool shi shi salon (shi shi AKA Sheik, classy overpriced and contemporary [via. wikipedia]) - great modern ambiance (air plants, live orchids and tropical plants everywhere!!) lots of front desk staff and assistants bustling everywhere - with the amazing number of helpers and stylists i expected a pricey but relaxing afternoon. i had a general root touch up dye, low-lights and a blowout (and a complimentary glass of water,) and generally had an all around satisfying time. i did not get a haircut, style, pedi/mani or any other service. reason for 3 stars instead of 4: big shock and wtf was the $160.00+ bill. i mean, c'mon, i know East Liberty is becoming quite gentrified, but this is still Pittsburgh. i moved here from San Francisco and NEVER paid this much for a dye/blowout.
